How to get verified on Spotify as an artist
The blue tick is gone. In January 2026 Spotify swapped it for a “Registered Artist” label, and in April it added a green “Verified by Spotify” badge. They mean different things, and you get them in different ways.
Registered Artist: claim your profile
This one says you run your own profile through Spotify for Artists. It's free, and you can claim it as soon as one song of yours is live on Spotify.
Open Spotify for Artists
At artists.spotify.com or in its app, and sign in with your Spotify account.
Find your profile
Choose to claim a profile, search for your artist name or paste your profile's link.
Show it's you
Follow the steps Spotify asks for, then wait for it to approve the claim.
Once you're in, you can change your photo and bio, add your Instagram and other links, see who's listening, and pitch upcoming songs to Spotify's editors.
Verified by Spotify: earned, not asked for
There's no form for the green badge. Spotify gives it to profiles that show a real, active artist:
- people listen steadily over time, not in one spike;
- you're visible on and off Spotify, with concert dates, merch and social links on your profile;
- the profile isn't an AI-generated artist.
Spotify says a profile without the badge today can still get it later.
Claim your profile today. The badge follows an artist who plays, posts and keeps releasing.
One profile, every song
When you release a new song, make sure it names your existing Spotify profile. Otherwise it can end up on a new, empty profile that shares your name, and your listeners won't see it.
