This policy covers two related things: how Nenco delivers its service (timing, what you can expect after submitting a release) and how refunds, cancellations, and royalty disputes are handled when something needs to be undone.
1. What Nenco charges for
Nenco is free to register and free to distribute music. There is no signup fee, no monthly subscription, and no per-release upload charge. The only money that moves through Nenco is the royalty share — Nenco retains a percentage of net DSP revenue after it arrives from streaming platforms. For self-serve artists releasing under the Northeast Noise Company imprint, that share is 20%. For labels onboarded manually, the rate is set in writing during onboarding.
Because there is no upfront charge for the core distribution service, there is generally nothing to refund. The scenarios below describe the cases where money or releases do need to be moved.
2. Service delivery — what happens after you submit
- Once you complete a release in the dashboard and submit it, the release enters a review queue. Most submissions are reviewed within 72 hours.
- After review, the release is delivered to DSPs. Spotify, Apple Music, and YouTube Music typically reflect new releases within 3 to 5 business days. JioSaavn, Gaana, Hungama, and other Indian DSPs can take 5 to 10 business days. Some long-tail DSPs are slower.
- The exact go-live date is set by each DSP, not by Nenco. We do not promise specific dates and cannot expedite review with individual DSPs.
- You can monitor delivery status from your dashboard. Releases delivered show up under
dashboard / catalogwith their DSP-side links populated. - Royalty statements from DSPs arrive with an industry-standard lag of approximately 3 months between the calendar month a stream occurs and when it is reported. You will not see earnings on the same day streams happen.
3. Cancelling a release before it goes live
You can cancel a submitted release any time before it is delivered to DSPs by emailing hello@nenoise.com from the email on your account. There is no fee for cancellation. The release is removed from the queue.
Once a release has been transmitted to DSPs (typically within 72 hours of approval), cancellation becomes a takedown — see section 4 below.
4. Taking down a live release
Initiate takedown from the dashboard (release detail → request takedown) or by emailing hello@nenoise.com. Every takedown costs ₹199, paid to Nenco before we send it to the stores. The ₹199 is non-refundable once the request is sent to the stores, even if a specific store takes longer than expected. How long removal takes depends on each store's own review.
A few DSPs retain the release in non-streaming contexts (e.g. user-saved playlists) per their own policies — Nenco cannot override this. Royalties already earned remain payable per the normal payout schedule.
5. Royalty disputes
If you believe a royalty statement is incorrect, email hello@nenoise.com within 60 days of the statement's date with the release, period, and reason for the dispute.
- We will trace the statement back to the underlying DSP report and respond within 14 business days.
- If the discrepancy is on Nenco's side (a split mis-applied, a release mis-attributed), we will correct it in the next statement and back-pay the difference.
- If the discrepancy is on the DSP's side, we will raise it with them. Resolution timelines depend on the DSP's own dispute process and are often measured in months.
- Disputes raised more than 60 days after the statement date are reviewed on a best-effort basis but not guaranteed.
6. Payout disputes
Payouts are made via Razorpay. If a payout shows as sent in your dashboard but has not landed in your bank account within 5 business days, contact hello@nenoise.com. We will trace it through Razorpay. Where the issue is on Nenco's side (wrong account selected, KYC flag we missed), we will reissue at no cost.
7. Fraud, chargebacks, and clawbacks
If a payout is later determined to have resulted from stream manipulation, copyright infringement, or misrepresentation of rights (including incorrect collaborator splits), we may claw back the disputed amount from future payouts and, in serious cases, terminate the account per the terms of service.
8. Statutory rights
Nothing in this policy limits any rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act 2019, the Information Technology Act 2000, or other Indian consumer-protection legislation applicable to digital services.
9. Changes to this policy
Nenco reserves the right to modify this policy at any time, at its sole discretion, as the platform's operational, legal, or business requirements evolve. Material changes (fees, processing windows, dispute timelines) will be announced via email to your account address at least 14 days before they take effect. The “last updated” date at the top of this page is authoritative.
